We had our two week check up at the midwife on Wed.
Ivy weighs 9 pounds – up a pound from her birth weight!
Lance has gained half a pound – bulking up so his sister doesn’t catch him
I’ve lost 20 pounds – I guess it’s going straight to Ivy
Lance is becoming a big boy by doing nights and naps without his pacifier now. He has taken up with a blankie though.
Ivy is sleeping five hours at night and occasionally hitting a 7-8 hour stint!
I’m walking a little bit again and itching for the go ahead to run.
Lance and I have been doing the summer reading program at the library and hope to collect our free book next week.
He often takes advantage of Ivy’s eating time to get in a quick story. But if mommy is busy then he’s taken to reading the books himself.

Here’s a new rendition on an old poem that I made up today. Enjoy!
Cleaning and…..
Scrubbing can wait ‘till tomorrow:
For babies…
Grow up, we’ve learned to our sorrow.
So quiet down laundry….I don’t think I’ll sweep
We’ll play hard ‘till naptime (painting with water)
So we can ALL sleep!
edit: Lance woke up early so mommy didn’t sleep – ah well, I’ll shoot for this afternoon.

Lance and Ivy both hit a new “age” yesterday so we celebrated by taking a walk to the park.
We got to use our new double jogging stroller – Lance checks out his new stroller mate.
Lance – 16 months
Ivy – 2 weeks
Lance loves his baby sister…but sometimes a mischievous big brother streak kicks in.
Kisses to make up.

I realized that in all the pictures I’ve put up so far, Ivy has her eyes closed. So I’m posting this one just because.
I think this is one of my favorite pictures so far, she looks just like one of my baby pictures.

Lance has been waiting for his baby sister for a long time. Even before she was born he loved hearing her heart beat at our checkup with the midwife.
/
Lance meets his sister for the first time and bestows his very first kiss. He has never done this before and even now he’ll kiss her all the time but won’t kiss his mommy, though she has tried.
He loves to watch and help as we take care of his sister.
Yesterday he helped me put lotion on her – her tummy is very soft now.
They do everything together: From potty training – both pooped in the potty after their naps today; To partners in crime – Ivy cries and while I attend to her, Lance makes himself a lunch of cheerios all over the kitchen floor.
These two are going to be best buddies.
